Published on 05/12/16

Pupils from Norwich Primary Academy had a chance to try new sports thanks to special PE sessions at The Hewett Academy, Norwich.

Over 100 Year 5 and 6 pupils travelled to The Hewett Academy on Friday, December 2 to take part in the sporting sessions.

They took advantage of the Hewett’s extensive PE facilities to try a range of different activities on offer at the secondary school.

Staff from The Hewett Academy’s PE department and BTEC sports science course put the primary school pupils through their paces in indoor rowing and fitness, while sport science students from Thetford Town FC led football coaching sessions.

Danny Self, sport science development officer at The Hewett Academy, said: “It was lovely to see the students from Norwich Primary Academy really embrace the activities that we had put on at the Hewett. They all really tried their hardest to learn new skills and have the best scores.”
