New timetable begins this month

Students returning from half-term will be working to a new timetable, following feedback from pupils and parents.
From Monday, June 5, form time will move from the beginning to the end of the day, with the first lesson now starting at 9am. This means that students should arrive at the academy by 8.55am to make sure they are ready for their first lesson.
The extended afternoon form time will allow for more assemblies, current affairs, literacy, target setting and raising aspiration sessions, and will round off the day, finishing at 4pm.
The mid-morning break will be at 10.45am, and lunch from 12.50pm to 1.35pm.
The changes will also see the end of the fortnightly timetable system, making it easier for families to plan ahead and ensure that students have everything they need for lessons and out-of-class activities.
Year 9 students will start their GCSE options when they return from half-term, giving a headstart on the traditional September start.
Principal Tom Leverage said: "We've continued to refine the timetable based on feedback from pupils, parents, and staff, and these latest improvements will ensure that students get the best balance of learning and pastoral support.
"Together with our plans to structure our enrichment activities to align with the Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme, they show how we really support our young people to do their best."
