Cadet’s talk is a Major success

A young Army Cadet who’s climbed mountains and flown aircraft has visited The Hewett Academy to share his experiences with students.
Drum Major Sven Larson visited the school in February to tell students about the activities and events the Cadets take part in, learning important skills like communication, teamwork, and organisation.
Aged just 17, Drum Major Larson has climbed Mount Snowdon and been on 22 flying ‘missions’.
He showed students a ‘sky-diving cam’ and talked about the wide variety of careers available in the armed forces, from engineering and medicine to playing in the Music Corps.
The Norwich Cadets meet on Mondays from 7pm to 9pm at the Cadet Centre on All Saints Green, less than a mile away from The Hewett Academy.
The organisation is open to boys and girls over the age of 12 who are in Year 8 upwards.
Any students who are interested in getting involved in the Cadets should visit their website or see Mr Little for contact details.
