A student from East Point Academy has beaten some of Suffolk’s best young athletes to win first place in a county cross-country competition.

Harriet Lyman, who's in Year 11, crossed the finish line ahead of 51 other runners from schools across the county to take first place in the Intermediate Girls category on Saturday, December 3.

The race, organised by Suffolk Schools Athletic Association, took place at Culford School, near Bury St Edmunds.

Oliver Willis, head of PE at East Point Academy, said: “Coming first in the county cross country is a great achievement. Huge congratulations to Harriet on her success!”
