Two students from East Point Academy have had their success in sport and dancing celebrated at an event recognising student achievement in Lowestoft.
Elise Naunton and Megan Swann, who are both in Year 10, took the prestigious prizes in the Dance and Sport categories at the annual Michael Marriott Rotary Youth Awards, organised by the Lowestoft Rotary Club.
The event saw over 80 students from four schools in the town competing to take home the awards, giving interviews and presentations in front of a panel of Rotary Club members to show their passion for their chosen field.
Elise wowed the judges with a contemporary dance performance and shared her love for the subject in her interview.
Keen swimmer and trainee triathlete Megan impressed the panel with her dedication to the sport, which she regularly competes in at a high level.
The winners were presented with their certificates and a £100 prize by organiser Malcolm Berridge at an evening ceremony on Wednesday, March 7.
Jo Gilbert, East Point’s head of performing arts, said: “Congratulations to Elise and Megan for their fantastic success at the awards.
“The competition took preparation and commitment from the students, and they were an asset to the academy.”
