Young journalists make headlines on BBC News Day
Published on 14/03/17
Students from Cromer Academy will be making the news for real today, as they take part in the BBC News School Report.
The event gives 11-16 year olds at schools across the UK the chance to become journalists for the day, making their own news reports for a real audience to be broadcast on News Day – Thursday, March 16.
Cromer Academy’s librarian and raising achievement manager Penelope Gee, who has co-ordinated the event, said: “This is an exciting day for our young journalists, and the culmination of weeks of hard work and preparation.
“The students have really got involved with every aspect of the news production process, from editorial meetings to writing news stories, interviewing our local MP Norman Lamb, filming around the school, and editing video footage.
“I look forward to seeing the news as it appears during the day, and finding out our students’ take on the issues that really matter to them.”
