Students at Cromer Academy have been developing their foreign language skills in a Russian taster course.
The 11-week course has been set up by the modern languages department as part of the academy’s enrichment programme, which gives students the opportunity to try new subjects and activities.
The Year 9 and 10 students began by learning the Cyrillic alphabet and reading and pronouncing Russian words and names.
They learned how to greet people, ask how they are, and ask their names.
Students also explored Russian geography, identifying some of the country’s most important cities and talking in Russian about where they are.
In the coming weeks they will be learning about numbers, telling the time, and looking at some typical Russian food.
