World Book Day shares joy of reading

From Mary Poppins to the Mad Hatter, the classrooms at Cobholm Primary Academy were packed with storybook favourites as the school celebrated World Book Day 2019.
Pupils came to school on Thursday, March 7 dressed as their favourite book characters and shared the joy of reading with a day of fun activities.
Staff got into the spirit as well, with impressive costumes including Snow White and Little Red Riding Hood.
The day was packed with reading and fun, as children learned poems and wrote their own, shared stories with their teachers, and tested their knowledge with a tricky book quiz.
Year 6 pupils were reporters for the day and put together a newsletter for parents with all the day’s activities.
World Book Day is held every year to celebrate books and promote reading in schools across the country.
