Cobholm commemorates First World War heroes

Children at Cobholm Primary Academy have been remembering those who fought in the First World War.
Pupils from across the school worked together to create a display of art and writing to mark the centenary of the 1918 Armistice.
In lessons and assemblies they learned what it was like to be an evacuee, and heard first-hand accounts of what it was like to live through the war.
The children explored the important role played by women, including Norfolk resident Florence Green, who joined the Women’s Royal Air Force in 1918 at the age of 17 and was the oldest living female veteran of the war until she passed away in 2012.
Principal Louise Scott said: “Our pupils found our remembrance activities really interesting and shared their work and what they’d learned in an assembly at the end of the day.”
