It's rhyme time as young poets get published

Published on 01/02/19

Pupils at Charles Darwin Primary will see their poems in print after being picked for publication in a new volume.

Rhymes by 14 Year 2 pupils will feature in a new anthology by Young Writers showcasing the best entries in its Poetry Patrol competition for children aged five to seven.

The competition organisers said: “This is our 27th year of running the competition and the standard of entries this year has been amazing.”

The Charles Darwin pupils were very enthusiastic about becoming published poets, with comments including “We had fun writing the poems” and “I am very happy I am going to be in a book”.

They were awarded certificates celebrating their achievement, and the school library will receive a copy of the anthology.
