£500 book bonanza for school library

Published on 30/11/18

Children at Great Yarmouth Primary Academy have had an early Christmas present - £500 to buy new books for their library.

Retired teacher Gary Fish, who was a regular supply teacher at the school until this summer, delivered the donation on Friday, November 30.

The money was donated by Gary’s masonic lodge, the Frederick Lodge Of Unity 452 in Croydon, as part of its programme of charitable giving.

Gary said: “I worked with struggling readers as a supply teacher at the school, and I’m delighted to return and give the library a helping hand.”

He presented the cheque to librarian Sandra Spyer, who will use it to provide extra books and reading resources for the library.
