New trustees join our board

Two new trustees have been appointed to the Inspiration Trust board.

The Trust oversees more than a dozen schools across Norfolk and Suffolk, and is rated the country's top schools group for student progress to GCSE.

The new board members are Cathie Paine, deputy chief executive at the REAch2 academy group, and David Earnshaw, chair of Outwood Grange Academies Trust.

Both are former headteachers with extensive experience in schools and education.

Under David's leadership, Outward Grange is recognised as one of the country's most consistently successful academy groups, and covers both primary and secondary age groups across more than 20 academies in the north of England and the East Midlands.

David also has experience in the technology and marketing sectors.

Cathie has an impressive CV in schools, including turning around her first school as headteacher from special measures to good in just four terms; when appointed to the role she was the youngest head in the country.

She went on to lead a double outstanding school in Lincolnshire which became the county's first National Teaching School.

In 2012 she was the first employee at REAch2, which has since grown to be the largest primary-only academy trust in the country and now covers more than 50 schools.

Inspiration Trust chief executive Dame Rachel de Souza said: "I am delighted that we have been able to attract such high calibre trustees to continue our trust's mission of bringing the highest aspirations and best possible educational outcomes to children in East Anglia, regardless of background.

"Both Cathie and David have exceptional and incredibly valuable educational expertise, right through from frontline teacher to school and trust leader.

"We are already learning much from them, and I hope also sharing some of our best approaches with the schools that they oversee."
