Full CalendarSir Isaac Newton

This event will take place between 10:00am and 2:00pm on 09/03/2019.

Families can celebrate British Science Week with a free day of hands-on science fun at Sir Isaac Newton Sixth Form.

The Inspired Science day takes place at the sixth form campus on Bethel Street, Norwich, from 10am to 2pm on Saturday, March 9.

There’ll be activities and experiments to inspire budding scientists of all ages, run by Sir Isaac Newton sixth formers with help from Hewett Academy and Jane Austen College students.

Families can find out how plants grow in space in the Mars Zone, or take a trip to the Transport Zone to see mini hovercrafts made from CDs and bend the laws of physics with the Mobius track.

In the Eco Zone and Bio Zone you can get stuck into slime-making experiments or investigate sustainability.

The day will also feature shows from popular science presenter Dr Ken Farquhar and a workshop from Airlander, manufacturers of groundbreaking hybrid aircraft, with more special guests to be announced.

There’s no need to book, just come along and enjoy the day. Please note there is no parking at the sixth form - the nearest public car park is at The Forum.
